Doctor of Laws, Professor in Criminal Law and Computer Law at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Nicolaus Copernicus, Torun, Poland. He has been involved in a number of teaching activities, training programmes and research projects both nationally and internationally. He served as a legal expert in the United Nations project: Computerization of Information Systems in Criminal Justice dealing with privacy protection issues. He was a member of the Council of Europe Committee of Experts on Crime in Cyberspace (2000-2001). His main areas of research are: criminal law, criminal comparative law, computer and Internet law, legal protection of privacy and personal data. He teaches several computer crime and privacy law courses both for students and practicing lawyers. He is the head of Post-Graduate Studies in Computer Crime Problems for prosecutors at the NC University. He is involved in the activities of LEFIS (Legal Framework for the Information Society) Thematic Network.
