Biography and research interests

Dr Ayse Ceyhan is a Political Scientist. She teaches Security Studies and International Relations at Sciences Po-Paris. Specialized in issues of security and technology, she leads a research programme “Security–Technology- Society” and a research group on security technologies at Maison des Sciences de l’Homme (MSH). She works on border surveillance, airport security, identity controls and surveillance issues. In January 2008 she organized a cross-disciplinary conference in Paris on biometrics. She is currently editing a volume on “Biometric identification” for a 2010 release.


Research interests: The technologization of security – the makers of technologized security – security companies’ role in shaping security policies and technologies.
