Biography and research interests

born 1968, studied Sociology, Ethnology and Geography in Münster, Germany, doctoral thesis on „Virtual Ethnicity. Studies on Identity, Culture and Internet“ (Peter Lang 2000); fieldwork in Northern Ireland on „Violence and Identity“ (2000/2001); 2003-2006 research project on CCTV and spatial perception, 2008-2010 research on consumption and loyalty cards, research interests include surveillance (CCTV ,consumption, theory, anthropology of surveillance), identity, urban studies, space, political anthropology, violence, Internet and media, qualitative methods.

Publications include:
