Ioannis Dokas has a diploma in Civil Engineering and a PhD in knowledge based - decision support systems. He is the developer of the Landfill Operation Management Advisor, a web based expert system which estimates the possibility of  occurrence of 24 common landfill operational problems, given a description of landfill working conditions by the users. He was for 3 year Marie Curie post doc research fellow (2 years in Germany and 1 year in Ireland.) He is working at the Cork Constraint Computation Centre as researcher from 2007 and he is currently the principal investigator of a 5 year research
project on early warning systems.
