Marc Langheinrich is assistant professor in the Faculty of Informatics at the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI), Lugano, Switzerland, since September 2008. Marc received a masters degree (Diplom) in computer science from the University of Bielefeld, Germany, in 1997, and his PhD (Dr. sc.) on the topic “Privacy in Ubiquitous Computing” from the ETH Zurich, Switzerland, in 2005. Before joining the ETH Zurich in 1999, he worked for several years as a researcher in both academia (Univ. of Washington, Seattle) and industry (NEC Research, Tokyo). Marc is one of the authors of P3P, a W3C-standard for privacy on the Web, and has published extensively on privacy aspects of ubiquitous and pervasive computing systems. Marc is a regular program committee member of various conferences and workshops in the areas of pervasive computing, security and privacy, and usability.
