José María Zavala Pérez holds a bachelor's degree in Sociology (2004, Universidad del País Vasco) with a specialization in politics and society in the contemporary world and a Diploma of Advanced Studies (DEA) with a focus on contemporary problems in the information society (2008, Instituto Universitario Ortega y Gasset – UCM). He is currently working on his PhD at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and contributes to various publications, writing articles and book reviews. His research interests are mainly focused on the field of STS-Studies, but also include some topics of political sociology (contemporary social movements) and education (role of ICT's in the school).
